                                                            GLENN CUNNINGHAM
   
                                          Glenn Cunningham was born on 1909 Atlanta, Kansas. He was known a the Kansas Flyer along with other great nicknames. One day when he was just 8 years old his school house caught on fire and burned both of his legs. The doctors predicted that he would never walk normally walk again. The injury was so severe that the doctor told his parents that if they would amputate his legs, they strongly said no. So years later he was determined and believed himself he could walk again... and he did.
At 5'10 and weighing in at 154 lbs. , he got into running/track and competed in the 1932 summer Olympics and the 1936 summer Olympics as well. He set many records and won great medals in his career. He later retired in 1940. He died 1988 in Menifee, Arkansas. This man was a legend...
